Cranky Jar · last updated 27 October 2026

The short version

Cranky Jar sets no cookies, runs no analytics, shows no ads and has no accounts. Nothing about you or your games is sent to us.

What stays on your device

Your game progress is saved in your browser's local storage on this device only: today's result, your best score, your streak and streak freezes, collected stamps and chosen style, the run in progress, your language and whether sound is muted. We cannot see it. Clearing your browser's site data deletes it; it is not backed up anywhere.

Sharing and challenge links

When you tap “Share result”, your device's share sheet or clipboard is used, and you decide where the text goes. A challenge link only contains the jar number and the score to beat, never anything that identifies you.

Hosting

The game is a static website hosted on Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3 and Amazon CloudFront). To deliver the files to you, the hosting service necessarily processes your IP address and browser details for the duration of the request. We do not keep access logs, and the game does not load anything from third parties: fonts and code are served from this site.
